Description

Quiet, cool and fast.

Built this PC mainly for gaming/streaming (GF wants to start), but i also plan to use it for some ML algorithm. It worked perfectly when assembled and had no problem to set the RAM clock at 2933 Mhz with XMP profile 1; I do not plan to OC until i get a good cooler and understand a bit of airflow.

Installed Linux Mint 19 with Wine and Snap League of Legends, everything worked with minor troubles (had to install the right dependencies); Played a fast game without changing configurations (all on Medium, got near 240 FPS). I am really satisfied with the build in general.

The SSD is only for the OS and some programs, i have some old 250 GB HDD to store data, also a 1TB external HDD.

Part Reviews

CPU

First Build, First AMD PC. I was trembling of excitement mounting the CPU on the MOBO. I'll test it soon and update.

Motherboard

I bought this as it has just what i needed, 2 RAM slots, 1 PCI-e 16. The BIOS is user friendly, everything worked out of the box even the XMP at 2933Mhz for the RAM. Just the 4-pin power was difficult to connect due to the length of the cable and on the MOBO is at the opposite side from the PSU.

Memory

I thought it had a heat sink, but is just an adhesive. It works with XMP at 2933Mhz.

Storage

It is my first SSD and i am amazed of the speed, perfect for what i need. Linux takes 5s to get up from pushing start button.

Video Card

Woks fine out of the box. I have to really test it yet, will update when i do. For now LOL on Wine in Linux mint 19, all set at Medium quality got near 240 FPS.

Case

I got the one without the side window. Is a great case for beginner, plenty of space and just enough for cabling. Just the material seems a little fragile.

Power Supply

Just fine for what i need. Decent case and cables, the length is just right. Just the 4-pin power was difficult to connect due to the length of the cable and on the MOBO is at the opposite side from the PSU.

Thanks for the warning! I've just read something about it. I'll keep an eye on it.
