Description

Built this mainly to upgrade from my gaming laptop as I've always wanted a desktop. Will be used to play Elite: Dangerous in VR (once I buy the VR setup and HOTAS setup later this year) as well as other fairly recent games at mid to high settings in 1440p@75Hz (Which it is currently doing fine on the few games I've tested). Have had no problems with it, boots in seconds and looks great even without the RGB strips I added.

(Also, I apologise, my room is quite a mess at the moment)

Yeah, all I had on my PC in the moment. XD Just taken some more so will upload them once they sync over.

It's in a kinda awkward place on my floor at the moment which is why I didn't really take any photos. I'll be finding it a proper place in a month or so when I reorganise my room so might add some better ones then.

Change that Hyper 212 for a 240mm aio and overclock the cpu.

I did actually consider that. Went for the air cooler mainly for cost and also because I wasn't going to OC straight away. In fairness though, it'll likely be the first thing I upgrade.

Personally i would prefer air cooling, mostly because Water+Electronics = D: but you can get a decent overclock even if it's only air cooled

For air cooling, I would get the Noctua nh-d15. It has a LOT of airflow.

i've heard a bunch of good stuff for Noctua with the one con being the Tan color the apply to all their parts ( i have no Fking idea why they would be that of all the possible colors you can get) but i have seen they're making a new series with a bunch of color options

Down the line he can change the fans.

Yeah. XD Aside from the relatively cheap cost of an air cooler, I think this was the main reason I didn't want to mess with liquids on my first build.

XD Just temporary. Remodelling and cleaning out my room soon so I'll be moving it to a more permanent desktop location then. Wasn't happy about it but the floor was my only option. Got a flat piece of cardboard underneath it in a desperate attempt to keep the airflow to the PSU.
