Description

Basically this build is for casual everyday use and a little bit more on some light games, specifically Dota 2. For sure I can save more money from what this PC is built for or I can get a more better components from how much I spent but its just that I wanted to do it a bit artistically :D

Started planning this build last May 2016. Took me a long time to finish everything because of waiting for some parts to go on sale and the release of new graphics card. But since the new GPU's always go out of stock, I just gave up. Also given the place where I live its really difficult to get on hands with those new graphics card.

Enjoy!

Does your B150M Bazooka baord have the same explosive performance as the note 7?

  • 5 points

+1! Haha :D

  • 3 points

Are you sure? One review I read about the Note 7 was that it packs an unprecedented amount of power in such a small form factor...

  • 13 points

I shall name it "THE WIRELESS BEAST!!!!!" Great cable manengment!

  • 4 points

Thanks man! Spent a lot of time for it. I actually like that name :D

  • 3 points

I've been thinking of this idea where it's a normal desk but it'll have a box in the back under the desk the same width of course and a space on the top big enough for power bricks and a power surge so it gives the apperence its wireless!

  • 2 points

That would be perfect! Would love to see you do it. In my case, I just hang the power surge and modem on the bottom of my desk.

Drill holes for your keyboard and mouse wires and I approve! Everything is so clean and hidden away, besides your PC of course. ;-)

Honestly I was thinking about it :D Maybe the time when I can get myself better and good looking keyboard and mouse. Thanks man!

Very nice clean build mate. I've got a build using the White Air 540 case but it's not nearly as tidy as this, particularly with your cable management!

Could I please ask where you got your white cables and the desk from?

Thanks man :D

  • 2 points

Thanks mate!Just take your time doing the cable management. Try to visualize how you want it to be :D

I got the desk from amazon, South Shore Furniture Interface Desk (Pure White). For the cables, they are white paracord extention cables from ensourced.net :)

  • 1 point

Thanks man! Don't think I can get hold of that desk in the UK from the look of it :(

I'll try and get round to posting pics of my build soon. Won't be as fresh looking as a new build as its been in use since December :D

What desk is that ? it looks nice.

Its South Shore Furniture Interface Desk, Pure White.

  • 1 point

Really nice build im wondering where did you get that desk at?

  • 2 points

I got it from amazon which at the time of my purchase was on sale :D Its South Shore Furniture Interface Desk, Pure White.

Ok so this is the same monitor I am about to buy for my up and coming 6600k gtx 1060 build. I was wondering if it has g-sync, and if there are any features you think I should know about.

  • 1 point

For sure that build of yours will be great! This monitor only has the free-sync for AMD, but it has 3D Vision support for NVIDIA. It also got exclusive Display Widget software for easy access on the menu. I don't think you can get a monitor with 144hz, 1ms response time, and g sync support at the price point of this monitor. But if you can, Id recommend going for a monitor with g sync :) Still this monitor is also great :D

I have the 27 inch version of this monitor, and wholeheartedly recommend it. If I could turn back time though I would definitely go for the humungous curved option though :p

awesome build +1

how do you get a backplate like this but for a asus 1060

  • 2 points

I guess most of the 1060 now has a backplate already. But If you want, you can visit v1tech.com. They do customization or pre-made backplates there :)

Artistic is always the way to go! :) Also very nice and clean.

  • 1 point

Beautiful build! Its exactly What I want to do with my build. How does the low profile phanteks cooler do under load? I really want a top flow fan for aesthetics but I need a little performance as well.

  • 2 points

Hey man! Got an update on the CPU Temps :D Looks like I mistook the data from GPU last time XD The temp on idle is around 27 degrees while under load is up to 47 degrees :)

  • 1 point

That sounds alot more accurate. Thanks for sharing. Wish you the best with your new PC.

  • 1 point

Thanks man! I would love to see your build soon :) It works great in my case. Its keeps my CPU, not overclocked, at around 33 degrees idle and around 70 under load.

  • 1 point

Thanks for the quick reply. IMO thats a little too high for me whithout an OC. Although I cant think of anything I would need that could take advantage of an OC'd i5. I really might consider this cooler.

  • 1 point

No problem :D Yeah its a bit high actually. Maybe Ill do some more test soon and compare the results. Id recommend this cooler, though the main reason I got them is for the looks :D

  • 1 point

I wouldn't doubt it buddy! This is such a clean build :D

  • 1 point

very nice build +1. how did you guess the lengths of the sleeved cables when you were ordering the parts ?

  • 1 point

Thanks man! I just estimated it actually. My advice is to just get the 30 cm to be safe. Because I ordered 20 cm for the cpu 4-pin and it almost went short XD

  • 1 point

"first build" lol

  • 1 point

Its really true man. Believe it or not, it my first build :) Just got all the ideas for the build from watching vids from youtube (vids from TechSource, Linustechtips, and etc) and researching :D

  • 1 point

Absolutely beautiful work.

  • 1 point

Very satisfying cable management. Well done!

  • 1 point

Looks really nice man. My only complaint is the PSU. 650W is super freakin overkill for an i5 and a 960. You could have gotten away with a 450 or a 500. But other than that it looks nice.

  • 1 point

Thanks man! :) I agree with you on that. Its just that at first, I planned on getting latest GPU. That's why I get a 650W. Later on I realize its hard to get those GPU on hand, so I just stick with the 960. Also, PSU was the first component I ordered coz that time it was on sale :3

  • 1 point

It looks beautiful. I'm trying to build for the first time as well. What's the purpose of all the case fans you have on your list?

  • 1 point

Just be confident, I know you can also do it! :) It won't really affect the performance of the components significantly inside the case, I just put all of it for the looks :3 Though I would recommend to have a positive air flow inside your case :D

  • 1 point

Which fan pair did you use for the front case fan, the SP120 or AF120?

  • 1 point

I used the SP for the front. My thought process on what kind of fan will be used is that when your fan is getting air from an open space with no restrictions, like exhaust fans for you case, you use the AF (Air Flow). On the other hand, use SP (Static Pressure) when the fan is getting air from restricted environment, like pulling air through a screen filter, fans for CPU cooler and radiators. Hope this helps :)

  • 1 point

Instead of buying the 2 pairs of memory, cold u have baught 1 pair of 2x 8GB ram sticks! You would have saved a few bucks but otherwise, super clean and good pc! Good Job! :))

  • 1 point

Thanks man! :) Yeah for sure I would have saved a few bucks, I agree. But the reason I get the 4x4GB ram is for the looks :3

  • 1 point

Is the corsair Air 240 good? I really consider it myself for my next pc! Would you recomend it?

-sterr

  • 1 point

I will really recommend it! :) The case is really good, not only for the looks but also how the inside of the case is designed. From the fan filters all around the case to and removable conpartments inside. I also find it quite easy to build in though its my first time. Just be patient :3

  • 1 point

Gorgeous build, I may change over to a white case after seeing this! Absolutely marvelous cable management, it looks fantastically clean. Did you have to try and set things up before ordering the cords to know the length and clip orientation or do you just have a keen eye? Again, fantastic build; especially for your first one.

  • 2 points

Thanks! :D I actually just estimated the lengths, and for the orrientation I just check the photos of the conponents I will be getting. But I would really recomment getting the 30 cm for everything to be safe, maybe except for the 24-pin since 20cm is enough in my case :)

  • 1 point

I've got the site where you got the cables bookmarked. It works fantastically since my PSU is fully modular. I'll lay it out and find my cable paths before I order most likely.

  • 1 point

That great. Is the site ensourced.net? Just be sure bud if you will be getting just the cable extension or the full-length cable :)

  • 1 point

It is, yeah! I'll double check on that before I order. Thanks a ton.

  • 1 point

Your cable management and tidiness of the entire case and desk area is just B-E-A-UTIFUL!!!

  • 1 point

Damn.

  • 1 point

Thanks! Indeed it will for sure :)

  • 1 point

What desk is that? It looks Ikea-like

  • 1 point

I was really planning to buy an Ikea desk for this set-up but the shipping will cost me more than the desk Ill buy XD So instead I grab this, South Shore Interface Desk (Pure White) through amazon which on my time of purchase was on sale.

  • 1 point

Awesome thanks :D I might pick one up!

  • 1 point

Awesome! Would really recommend for it man :D

  • 1 point

Would it fit a 32" tv and a normal size case? (Corsair 400c)

  • 1 point

For sure it would but maybe you'll find yourself too close to the large monitor screen given the width of the desk is only 19.5''. But it differs on preferences, maybe it wont bother you :D

  • 1 point

Beautiful build! Fantastic cable work and great choice on parts. :D

+1

Are those little 80mm fans very noisy?

  • 1 point

Thanks man! :D Its not really noisy

  • 1 point

Very organized, clean build and setup. Very nice. I have to wonder why you went with the gtx 960 instead of the 1060? Not saying the 960 is a bad card-no, it's a decent card. But why?

  • 1 point

Thanks man! :) I totally agree with you on that. The reason behind it is on the description :3

  • 1 point

Oh, I didn't read it XD. Beautiful, yet simple rig. Has a bit of a dainty look which that design flows throughout the rig. You did a great job at being consistent!

+1

I love it. It's not easy to make one look good with white as the main color but this one is just superb.

  • 1 point

With all those fans how do you control the speed, did you power the fan header through the mobo or the PSU?

If you were to power it through the mobo wouldn't drawing all the power through the fan header possibly damage the mobo?

  • 1 point

so pretty and clean! what kind of temps do you get with this?

  • 1 point

What extensions did you get specifically? I know you got the Ensourced ones and they look really nice but im kinda new to building pcs and I want to know what cables i have to buy. I am also planning to get the same power supply as you. Thanks and +1!

  • 1 point

Thanks man. Its really fine

  • 1 point

May I ask how did you hide the CPU motherboard cable? Did you remove the hhd drive to access the hole directly above the motherboard cpu slot, or did you hide the wire behind the motherboard?

  • 1 point

I just run through the very top. I still used the cable holes on the middle or the case.

  • 1 point

Wow, nice job man! Congrats for that beautiful rig! Im awful with cable management, do you know of a guide or tips? Ill appreciate it ;) btw, where can I buy that desk? im also building a white themed PC and would love to see mine in that desk :)

Hey, nice build btw. Thinking about getting an Air 540 case but in silver for my self. But, I would just like to give you a fair warning about WD Blues. If you are planning on running games off of it be prepared for it to die within a year or so. I read that you are just doing DOTA 2 and some light games so it should be fine for your purpose, just thought I would give you a warning. If you are wondering, WD Black is the performance HDD and are only $70 or so, not too expensive at all.

Have a great day!

  • Nabber
  • 1 point

Thanks a lot man. Will keep it in mind. Its a good thing I saved the OS and games on SSD and used only the HDD for some other files :)

  • 1 point

np, I am not sure if it will, just that i've had a Seagate Barracudda fail and a WD Green or blue, dont remember which. I am not sure how long the Black will last but it should last longer since it's the "performance" edition.
