Description

Gaming / General Workhorse. Replacing the on-it's-last-dying-breath five year old PC that was a basic gamer's build back in it's day and keeping my refurb laptop from being my workhorse.

This was, hands down, the easiest build I've ever done. I started building computers at twenty and I'm thirty six now, and while I don't build them all that often, this was still the easiest. The hardest thing was getting all the parts (Outlet PC made a lot of excuses, I made some noise, and magically they overnighted the parts to me! At least they made a better effort after their first run-around answer) and after that it was a breeze.

CPU/MOBO can be overclocked-- I'll update this, maybe, with overclocking experiments as I've never done it before! Beyond that-- it boots up in under 10 seconds, runs like a dream and right now I'm moving everything back onto it. All my games run on their highest settings (93-100fps in WoW on ultra, fun times) and I even upgrated to Win 8.1 because I could do it for a whopping $9.75 thanks to working at a college (so ignore the Win 7 down there).

The case/fan is almost silent. Super quiet. Wen I hve my music on it's completely unnoticable, and barely noticable when the music isn't on/the house is quiet. The three fans and their LEDS all match, so that makes me happy.

Got to say, I'm really pleased! Can't wait to get into some meatier games, see what I can really do with this. So far, so good!

Love this build. Looks great with great performance under $1K! How do you like that Enermax cooler? I'm about to buy the same one for my boyfriends build i'm doing for our four year anniversary.

It's beautiful. I mean it. Silent, cool, beautiful. I was just looking at it a minute ago going "are you even running? you are! you're glowing blue and silently fanning the crap out of that machine!"

It's great that the Windforce fits in there! I've got the same case but I'm worried about getting a card that's about the same size. Now I'm more confident that it will fit!

How did you do cable management?

I took advantage of the back plate - there were gaps in the case that allowed for cables to be moved behind it and keep them out of the way.

How many usb ports does it have? looks great btw.

The case says it doesn't have a 2.5" inch bay for ssd. Did you need to buy an adapter to install your ssd?

Looks like a monster cpu cooler. Looked at the price and it's actually not too expensive. Pretty blues. I have the same case, just wanted to see what a complete build looked like with it.
