I'm a 23 yr old medical student who's used iMacs, MacBook pros and iPad's my whole life. love my apple products because they're convenient for school, but I really wanted to learn the PC side of things.
I delidded the CPU for better temps (liquid metal) & because I was curious about the process itself. I used the new NZXT Kraken x72 (360 mm radiator), and a push/pull fan setup.
CPU was stably overclocked to 5 Ghz. It was actually stable at 5.2 Ghz but I brought it back down to 5 since I never need that much power anyways. GPU was stably overclocked slightly to 2.05 Ghz.
TEMPS: CPU is ice cold no matter what. Not quite sure what's normal/not normal for GPU temps, but under full 97%-100% load (and powering two 2560x1440p monitors with g-sync) temps have never exceeded 58 Celsius.
I included a ton of pictures so that you can hopefully see whatever it is you want to see.
It took me awhile to plan this build since it was my first time and I wanted it to be perfect (for me). This was the result. Let me know what you guys think. Feel free to ask questions and/or make recommendations!
UPDATE 6/4/18 I ended up replacing the top two Corsair ML140 fans for LL140 fans to match the 3 on the front. I also added the proper clips on the AIO sleeves. I didn't take or post new pics.
