Description

I built this computer for my mom. Mostly for work but also some gaming as well. ASUS' BIOS was so much easier for me to deal with than the Gigabyte motherboard of my own build.

Part Reviews

CPU

Very good for the price. Packaging is really weird.

CPU Cooler

Not gonna lie - mounting this thing took a lot of Googling. Instructions are really unclear on this unit. Know before you buy that this thing has thermal paste pre-applied onto the cooler.

Otherwise, this cooler seems to perform exactly as expected and I don't see any issues with it. Price is great as well.

Motherboard

Good for a budget Ryzen build. Asus motherboards are always my favorite. I/O is wonderful, and front header USB 3.0 support is included as well.

Memory

Not the best RAM, but if you're looking for a budget 16GB build, these are perfect for you.

Storage

This is the absolute best 500GB solid state drive for the price. Period.

Case

Actually not bad for a cheap mini tower! The box said that there's a model of this with a tempered glass side panel, but I couldn't find that anywhere. Had an easy time building in this case.

Power Supply

Picked this up for the ridiculously low sale price of 30 bucks on Black Friday. Very good power supply. Absolutely recommend if you can find it for the same price.

Wireless Network Adapter

Good cheap wireless adapter!

If you're getting this, keep in mind that the wireless functionality will not work whatsoever until you install the drivers included in the CD

Case Fan

Very nice fans. Corsair products are always a favorite of mine.

Monitor

To be completely honest, this monitor is just too freakin' big for a 1080p res. If you wanna get a monitor about this size, get a 1440p monitor or higher.

Regardless this was very easy to set up and would recommend for a budget build.

Keyboard

I'm surprised that this is 17.99 for both the keyboard and the mouse. Wireless functionality is perfect as usual with Logitech.

Custom

Very nice looking webcam. The clamp is a bit awkward for my monitor but it shouldn't be a problem for most. Would have preferred a wireless unit, but hey, it's 50 bucks.

Custom

Very good external optical drive. If you want a CD drive and your case doesn't support it, get this puppy.

if you could rotate your cpu cooler by 90 degrees I think it would be better. Air flow from right to left would offer some cooling for RAM and VRM. nice build!

Yeah, I definitely noticed that afterwards. I'll try to change that when I have the time!

How many case fans are in the case?

I think it's either two or three.
