Just wanted to share my first ever build! I researched and watched youtube videos the entire summer. I wanted to say thanks to the community here for all the advice. I used to play starcraft and warcraft when I was younger and then I bought a xbox 360 to game with friends. I finally got the itch again to come back to the pc master race! I bought starcraft 2 and was playing on my laptop with the integrated intel graphics. It was no good at all. So this is my creation for gaming now which is what I will primarily use this for as well as some light autocadd work.
CPU: It was recommended by virtually every site so I figured I couldn't go wrong there.
MOBO: I wanted to keep a black/white/silver theme and this fit the bill perfectly. I have no complaints and the BIOS is extremely easy to used which is nice as I am completely new at anything to deal with the BIOS. Plus I got it for $100 through an awesome Microcenter CPU/MOBO combo deal.
RAM: I know I splurged a little for the aesthetics of the awesome looking Dominators but it looks so damn good on the motherboard that I couldn't resist.
Storage: I had an hold Hitachi 500GB hard drive in my old old desktop where the motherboard fried after a lightning strike. I bought the Samsung EVO from Amazon and due to a shipping error I happened to get an extra one! So that was an awesome surprise.
Video Card: I debated between this and the Asus Strix but I liked the design of the Windforce cooler just slightly more than the Strix. I absolutely love this card! So far I have been playing Far Cry 4 (came free with the card) and Starcraft on ultra settings and it doesn't even bat an eye. It is amazing. I may get another one down the line once I can afford a 1440p monitor or 2.
Case: I debated between the 760t or the H440. But once I watched a few videos of the 760t and went to Microcenter to check it out I fell in love with it and was able to get it on sale for a pretty decent price.
Mouse/Keyboard: I am getting the mouse from my girlfriend for christmas and I am going to get a Corsair K70 soon as well.
Monitor: I am currently using a 32 inch Vizio tv that I had laying around. It isn't the greatest but it gets the job done and still looks pretty good.
Future Parts: I am going to buy a AIO CPU cooler after the holidays. I will probably get an H110. I eventually want to do a custom water loop with rigid tubing but that is a ways down the road. I will eventually get a better monitor or two. Thinking 1440p. I will also get some nice looking sleeved cables since I have a full window I need it to look good lol.
If you made it this far thanks for reading my rant about my first build. I had an awesome time doing it and learned a ton about computers. I will overclock eventually but I have to do more research and get comfortable with the process and get a CPU cooler. And sorry for the bad pictures. I had to use my Samsung S4 as I don't own a camera.
