Description

Hello again PC people. This is a new one I did for my buddies tattoo shop. He needed a rig by Monday for Photoshop on a 2 monitor set up and was interested in the ryzen 5 line up. I told him I had a lot of experience with that platform and that it was a great pick for something like a reliable work PC.

So at this point it's Friday night and I work Saturday. After outlining the parts we would like to included (and using PCpartpicker!) I decided to buy everything that night at Micro Center. If you have one in your area I highly suggest you buy everything you can their and get all the discounts on bundles they offer. GPUs and cases over their are a little harder to find everything but for basically anything else they have a full array. We saved 30 off the $60 mobo, 10 on the cpu, and so on... PSU was one of the best deals and at $45 the quality and overkill was worth it. This knocked 150 total off buying the parts online. Worth the drive out I'd say.

At this point I spend Saturday planning and passing out early to do a full 24hr build on Sunday. My buddy asked me to just throw the new guts in whatever old case I had lying around to save even more $. My old s340 was way too scratch and the bit phoenix shown here had no front panel (i ripped it off because it choked the air flow) I was trying to think of a creative way to make the case look presentable when those dark eyes stared down at me from my shelf.

The helmet was given to me by another friend who knew I'd have some use for it down the road. It matched the black of the case and the black and silver of the hardware I just bought (fools luck) The gaping holes in the case where the 3 5.25" bays go could be completely covered and I could use the space to house the lighting for the mask's eyes. Because the PC itself was so quick and easy to build, I had a good amount of time to mess with the helmet and lighting.

In cutting the helmet the old plastic just started to crack all over so I had to settle for a battle damaged look around the edges. For only having a day to build and test I still think it looks pretty good. Everyone at the shop seems to like it and compared to the 8 year old PC they had, this thing flies. Was ready for work on Monday and he didn't have to waist his cash on a pre-built , quick fix.

Feel the power of the Dark side. Feel the PC SAVINGS

Microcenter bundles are amazing. I basically got a motherboard for free in a bundle. I like the creative front panel!
