The boys are back in town!

This build isn't anything special.

The Disaster

Back in April, I was working on a few projects. I mostly do Art/Animation stuff. It was an odd vibey morning when it all happened. My old computer of choice was a Microsoft Surface pro rt and it's done me good these past few years. That morning though, it randomly failed on me. Froze on me and i tried my best to scavenge it up until it wouldnt even open. I think either it was the cpu or storage but regardless I was computerless.

Moving on

Those few months I disappointed a lot of people and at the time couldn't afford a new computer. So I spent the next months planning for a comeback. I would constantly lurk on r/buildapc until I had the necessary confidence to order everything. whats funny is the budget went from $1600 to $900

Build isn't completely finished as I plan to get the rx 480 around black friday

Part Reviews

Does what I need it to, definitely feels like an upgrade. The stock fan keeps cool temps and isn't too noisy at all but you could probably hear it at full speed.

Bios wasn't to confusing. noticed there was a nice little yellow led i hadn't noticed on it before. Its actually kinda brown but appears black from afar. Did what I need it to do which is be a decent mobo. Would recommend. 4 ram slots!!! Also Was confused if this was 32bit but dont worry its 64bit. Mobo definitely worth it considering my time struggling to get it in and almost ******* it up.

It's ram fam.

Also I made a mistake when I noticed I bought (1x16) of ram instead of (2x8) but it's no biggie.

Felt like I should've gotten the sp550 but no worries this was plenty of space and very fast! worth the money imo

was able to download all my games at the same time for once. No more switching around memory for me.

I've heard complaints about this but honestly this might be my favorite case, especially for cable management! The RGB lights are nice but I also am kinda disappointed they didn't give out free strips, would've been nice since now I have to buy a separate $20 pair. So be wary of that. Building in this case wasn't too hard but I saw myself constantly watching every step because I didn't want to scratch it which the inevitable happened regardless. Over all the case has looks going for it but keep in mind how sensitive this thing can be. It is a fingerprint magnet! but at least it has really good dust filters.

I **** with this case

Power Supply

Good psu but i honestly probably should've atleast went with semi modular. It comes in with these sleeves or something.

Wireless Network Adapter

Wanted the gigabyte one but out of stock and honestly no losses! gettin some pretty good connection right now

Got it yesterday and the display is definitely beautiful as well as worth the price. Sadly only a day after my display started showing some dead pixels im not sure I can ignore.

Does the TP-Link WD4800 work with this motherboard? I know in the pictures it looks like it plugs in, but its supposed to use a PCI express slot (Which this mobo does not have) - I'm buying the same motherboard and WiFi adapter, and was wondering if it works well? Thank you

it works just fine actually. Internet been working fine and everything. At first I was worried that i'd have trouble inserted a graphics card but that was barely an issue. though if you can get a mobo with a wifi pci slot then i'd get that. it took a bit trying to nudge it in. few months in though, i dont really regret any choices made.

Sorry to bother you again, but I just had one more question about it - Are you using Windows 10? If so, did the drivers install themselves or... - Thanks
