- My wife loves to play Sims 4 and has been struggling to sort of play it on a 13" macbook for some time. I built this for her birthday and it handles Sims very well.
The plan is to add an RX 460 or 470 as soon as she needs more power
Update: I found a GTX 960 used online
CPU - The intel HD 530 Graphics are surprisingly powerful. I was slightly worried that until she had a graphics card, playing sims was going to be difficult. I was so happy to be proven wrong. I can even turn the settings up a little ways! Still not the end goal, but with her birthday being right around the corner and me wanting to wait and see what happens with the new AMD series of graphics cards, this was a relief.
MB - Motherboard does it's job like a professional accountant: consistent and unnoticed. (Ha! sorry accountants)
Memory - Works great. Only White RAM I could find.
Storage - Good boot times. No issues.
Case - I love the look of this case and the way it turned out. The
instruction book useless sheet of paper offered absolutely no help or guidance in how to orient the cabling which resulted in me, as an amateur, making an awful cable mess the first time only to start over just to make it look nice. But at the end of the day, I can't complain. the case is extremely quiet.
Power Supply - beautiful box/manual. Excellent Power Supply. Good price. I'm impressed with EVGA.
Wireless thingy - brings the interwebs to the white box very good.
Keyboard - I like this a lot more than the logitech K400 I put with my build. I'm very jealous of this one now.
Not Listed bc already owned - some 1080p monitor - OEM windows 10 pro
Result She loves this computer! She's a very busy person but has for the most part stopped watching tv and only plays on this except of course for when she is watching Netflix on one screen and playing games on the other! She has logged dozens of hours since July 30th.
Great for mid range Builds. Intel HD 530 Graphics are surprisingly powerful. Stock Cooler is surprisingly quiet.
Great price point, but I was disappointed in the way the headers fit into the included backplate. I like my motherboard ethernet, usb, and other ports to actually be flush with the back plate and back side of case, but these left some space which makes it feel a little bit scary when plugging things in to them.
Fast and pretty with no issues
Great performance for its price range.
Second one I've bought and used. Both work great
Fantastic case. Aesthetically pleasing. 4 stars instead of 5 because they neglected to give any help in the form of suggestions on how to wire or set up your case. Had to learn from trial and error. I wired and re wired my PC 3 times for I got it how I wanted it.
Beautiful packaging. Nice cables. High quality and helpful manual. Great power supply according to Johnny Guru.
Wireless Network Adapter
Does its job flawlessly, makes a few concerning creaky noises whenever moved quickly or squeezed lightly.
Fantastic Keyboard mouse combination for those of us who can't justify spending hundreds of dollars on these. Great for work or play.
