Description

*Update - I have finally completed my build. I am so happy everything as turned out well. The GPU works like a charm and perfect for 1080p gaming. The Be Quiet! products (cpu cooler and fans) are soooooo quiet!!!! and they keep my CPU at 22 degree at idle and 26 at mid range.

My first build ever.

Both Waldi123 and JailBreak's builds have inspired me.

CPU: I have an Intel i5 6600k which I intend to overclock (well I want to learn how at least)

CPU-Cooler: I just love this amazing CPU cooler. its looks great and is extremely silent. keeps everything cool. The German engineering is perfect and package is also neat.

Motherboard: The motherboard has exactly what I need to overclock, wifi and m.2. I cannot complain. look descent enough (even though I won't see much with my CPU cooler which is exactly what I want.

RAM: needed a low profile and also black. Hyper X does the job.

M.2 : perfect for my OS and works well with my MB

SSD: this is a well reviewed SSD and the price for 1TB was amazing. I highly recommend this Mushkin to everyone!

GPU: Just got the Gigabyte GTX 970 Xtreme Gaming. wanted to wait for the 1070 but got impatient and the 980 and 1080 and too pricy for my taste and I will be playing on a 1080p screen at 144hz so this card will do the job well. plus its one of the best 970 out there.

Case: The case is beautiful, easy to use and extremely well built. I am extremely happy with this case. you can't go wrong with this one. small but big enough for cable management.

PSU: EVGA 750Watt is perfect. the packaging was incredible as well. with the guarantee with it and its price, it was a must.

Fans: I am planning to buy some BeQuiet SilentWings 2 140mm in the near future for the front intake. but may too at Phantek as well.

LED: Opted for the BitFenix magnetic led strips..

Part Reviews

CPU Cooler

looks incredible! its huge but so lovely and silent. will cool down anything! please ensure to use low profile ram.

Memory

there ram. perfect for my build due to low profiles. love the color.

Storage

good price, lots of space!

Case

an incredible case that is easy to assemble. only needed an ITX and this case fits the requirements. you can fit anything in this baby. even the Dark Rock Pro 3 or multiple rads. solid metal panels are sturdy and well made. you will be please. The only con would be the price which is high but it is quality craftsmanship.

Power Supply

what can I say. it is a great PSU. packaging is incredible with soft foam inside for protection and a nifty little bag for your cables. it is super quiet. you can't hear it. you can also use the eco function for silent mode (but not really needed as it is super quiet). great purchase, great price and extremely good quality and trusted company. I recommend.

Keyboard

just love this keyboard. the aluminium faceplate is good looking and it makes the keyboard sturdy. just love the Brown Kailh keys. good feel to it and not too noisy. I just love the simplicity of this key board. length of wire is perfect and nylon wrapping is appreciated. The only downside would be that not all key have the same sound/sensitivity such as the space bar and enter keys. I would recommend this keyboard if you are looking for a mechanical keyboard.

Didn't realize the manta can fit a full tower cooler. Awesome! That m.2 drive is still Sata III? Any reason for not going NVME, or just the price?

  • 1 point

yes it amazing what the manta can support in terms of cooling and especially water cooling as well.

yes the M.2 is Sata 3. just got for the price. its so cheap on amazon as well.

Nice pictures and build. I love how the cooler is almost the same size as the motherboard haha

  • 1 point

thank you! lol i know. its almost the same size, can't complain if the motherboard is messing with a color scheme. you can barely see it and once the GPU is installed, you won't see it.

anyone has a suggestion for fan configuration? the front will be two intakes but what about the back and the top? should the three fans be exhaust? keep in mind the CPU cooler (no issue right now with one fan in the back on two on top.)

thank you for your help!

  • 1 point

Usually you want more intake than exhaust, so that the case has positive pressure. So I'm suggesting that you should keep the two front intakes, but one rear exhaust and one top exhaust. It'll at least keep the pressure neutral or maybe positive.

That case looks amazing! How was it to build in? I actually thought about building in that case, but ultimately went an entirely different route because of the price.

+1 for sure though!!!

thank you! a lot of space to work in. really easy to work with and you see the quality of the case. the price was my initial concern but when you see the quality of the steel used, you can't go wrong.

Why buy a 970 when the 1070 is so soon??? Not to be rude but it doesn't make SENSE!

Read

GPU: not yet purchased. waiting for the next GTX 1080/1070 or if the 980ti or 980 go lower in price. i'm open to suggestions. I will play games on an 1080p 144hz screen and watch a few movies on my TV

I may be too much but the temps were good in my other chassis. maybe I will remove but the manta mini-itx lets you do that...so I though why not!

let me know if you have other comments. I always welcome constructive comment to help me with my build.

If you could upload some completed build photos that would be great! Also, I don't know if you got what I said, I meant the exhaust fan is located right behind the cpu cooler so it functions as if your cpu cooler is set up with 3 fans on it.

  • 1 point

will do when I have more to show. still waiting for a GPU at this stage. thank you for the comments. I wasn't too sure if it was overkilling it the way the fans were setup but I though it should do the job well. any input is always welcome. thank you!

If you want fully customizable LEDs go for the NZXT Hue plus.

I'm leaning towards the Hue+ but seems expensive...but looks really nice. I'm still thinking about it. thank you for the comment!

Loving that case and CPU cooler, It says there is a compatibility issue in the system build section with these two items. How did you find installing the cooler??

  • 1 point

actually, there were no compatibility issues with the cooler and the case. fits well. the NZXT Manta is design with a "bubble" like shape that allows more room. I have reported this to PCPartPicker.
