Description

RX 480 will be installed later. (didn't need it at the time) -------------

This is my first ever build, it's a mighty workhorse, and serves me well. More than enough to serve my needs with productivity work and android application development as well as other coding. Will also be used for gaming soon, when I install an RX 480.

The dark rock 3 CPU fan is not specified to fit on a LGA 1151 chip, However with a bit of fiddling it should work, and keeps my CPU ultra cool-

Also the overall flow of the comp is amazing, I mean even the outer case is freezing cold to touch. No more cooling needed, probably even an overkill but again, who cares??

Thanks for reading, posted some MEH pics, and yeah my first ever build enjoy ;)

Part Reviews

CPU

My god, this is a beast, especially if your programs do not benefit from hyper-threading, this is hands down the one of the greatest intel chips I have used by price/performance.

CPU Cooler

WOW, this cooler is huge, it will block your first RAM slot as shown in the pic above, however you are able to move the fan up the grill to stop this issue, fortunately I only use 2 Slots so don't have to worry about that. The fan is extremely quiet and the CPU temp is at most 70 C, (This is whilst using built in graphics card, im sure it would drop if you had a proper GPU)...Fan is so quiet I sometimes worry its not turned on

NOTE::: The dark rock 3 CPU fan is not specified to fit on a LGA 1151 chip, However with a bit of fiddling it should work, and keeps my CPU ultra cool.

Motherboard

Not much to say, more than enough ports, it also has 4 4-pin Fan headers which is very useful :) It also has some cool red leds down the sides which give it a little spark, so far no problems with the mobo.

Memory

Is there much to say about RAM? Do you even need more than 2400? Does the job. I just got it for the beautiful aesthetics

Storage

Perfect budget SSD to store your OS, Boot up time is around 10 seconds, lightning fast.

Case

This case is just perfect, not at all expensive and the build quality is superb. Side panel is perfect, although tampered glass would be better, but what do you expect for the price? Lots and lots of room for cable management, found it super easy to make everything look clean and note it is my first ever build. I also love how the PSU is covered, allowing you to hide all those nasty cables. This is a huge plus! Another thing I love about this case is the storage slots are also hidden, placed at the back side, there are also plenty mountable options for SSDs. I highly recommend this case.

Power Supply

Wow, wow, wow. I would not skimp on a quality PSU, sure it might be overkill but who cares? Leaves space for upgrades. The quality of the PSU is on another level. It also has a eco-mode, where the fan wont even turn on unless it goes over a certain temp. My fan has yet to turn on!! even at full load. Crazy. Probably my fav part of this build is the PSU haha. Again, another highly recommended purchase for most builds.

Wireless Network Adapter

If you have a router that supports dual band, you should buy this 100%. No drops in signal strength I always get my maximum network speed.

Case Fan

fans are just great, affordable/durable/quiet and the LEDs are very bright.

You could have gone for the R5 series or R7 series of AMD, they are cheaper and have more cores
